The young russian mezzo-soprano Anna Buslidze graduated from the Perm Academy of Music in 2015. While still a student, she made her debut as Mercedes in Carmen at the Tatar State Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan.
In 2014, she undertook an internship in Crescendo Summer Institute in Tokaj- Hungary. In the course of this internship, she performed the role of the Third Dame in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. Prior to this she has already performed Lyubasha in Tsars Bride at the Student Theatre “Akademia” in Perm. Together with the Perm Chamber Orchestra, she performed Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater and Tchaikovsky’s Moscow at the Perm Organ Concert Hall and other concert halls of the Perm region.
In Season 2014–2015, she was a soloist of the Samara Opera and Ballet Theatre, where she performed the roles of Dunyasha (The Tsar’s Bride), Olga (Eugene Onegin), Polina (The Queen of Spades), Lel’, Spring (Snow Maiden), Weaver (The Tale of Tsar Saltan).
In 2015, she undertook an internship at the Den Norske Opera in Oslo. In season 2015–2016, she was a soloist of the Saint Petersburg Chamber Opera, where she performed the roles of Santuzza (Cavalleria rusticana), Varvara (Not Only Love by R. Shchedrin), Flora (La Traviata), Maddalena (Rigoletto), Ulyana Gromova (The Young Guard by Yuliy Meitus).
In 2016 she became a soloist of the Mikhailovsky Theatre in St Petersburg, where she frequently performs Polina in Queen of Spades, Anna in Cinderella by Asafiev, Laura in Iolanta, Third Dame in Zauberflöte, Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro, Goddess Nika in Spartak, Varvara and Glasha in Katya Kabanova.
In 2019/2020 Ms Buslidze became a member of the young singers ensemble at the Deutsche Oper Berlin where she has performed Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana, Albine in Thais, Third Dame in Die Zauberflöte, Bersi in Andrea Chenier, Russian Nanny in Death in Venice. In addition, Ms Buslidzhe was supposed to perform: Flosshilde in Rheingold, Emilia in Otello, Alice in Lucia di Lammermoor, Der Missmut in Antikrist, sadly all these performances were cancelled due to Covid19.
Some recent highlights, outside of permanent engagements include a role debut as Ioanna/Jean D’Arc in Maid of Orleans Open Air in St Petersburg as well as on tour in Germany, as well as the title role in Carmen at the Ekaterinburg Opera House.
