The Sardinian Tenor Gianluca Moro began his musical career as a pop and gospel musician under the guidance of Timothy Martin at the American University in Rome. He graduated from Conservatorio Pierluigi da Palestrina in Cagliari under the direction of Bernadette Manca Di Nissa, and went on to pursue his second degree at Conservatorio Giovanni Battista Martini in Bologna.
His operatic debut was in 2012 under the stage direction of Denia Mazzola Gavazzeni in “Mirra” in Cagliari and Bergamo. His repertoire includes roles such as Pereo in Domenico Alaleona’s ‘Mirra’ , Edoardo Milfort in Rossini’s ‘La cambiale di matrimonio ‘, Peppe/Arlecchino in ‘Pagliacci ‘ by Ruggero Leoncavallo, Tamino in Mozart ‘Die Zauberflöte’ , Jack Worthing in ‘L’importanza di essere Franco’ by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco (new production for Luglio Musicale Trapanese), Bruschino figlio and Commissario in Rossini’s ‘Il signor Bruschino’ , Le Prince Charmant in ‘Cendrillon’ by Pauline Viardot (in an original new orchestration -world premiere-), Nemorino in Donizetti’ ‘L’elisir d’amore’ (new production by As.Li.Co. at Teatro Sociale di Como for OperaDomani project, on tour in several Italian theatres), John Styx in Offenbach ‘Orphée aux enfers’ and Vézinet in Nino Rota’s ‘Il cappello di paglia di Firenze’.
In sacred/concert repertoire he has performed Giulio Ruetta’s ‘Requiem ‘ (first world premiere, at San Salvador Church in Venice), solo tenor in Rossini’s ‘Petite Messe Solennelle’, Mozart ‘Requiem’ and Haydn ‘Nelson Messe ‘ . On September 2017 he played “HAYE – Le parole, la notte”, unpublished drama by Mauro Montalbetti conducted by Maestro Bossaglia (Teatro Ariosto in Reggio Emilia).
He has collaborated with such artists (conductors as Pierluigi Del Nunzio, Lorenzo Orlandi, Azzurra Steri, Enrico Saverio Pagano, Andrea Certa, Federico Santi and Michelangelo Rossi; réggiseurs as Denia Mazzola Gavazzeni, Renato Bonajuto, Manuel Renga, Natale De Carolis, Lorenzo Maria Mucci and Teresa Gargano; ensembles as Venice Chamber Orchestra, Zero Vocal Ensemble and Varese Ildebrando Pizzetti Orchestra) performing in several Italian places as Auditorium di Cagliari, Bergamo, Opera Bit (Brescia Opera Festival for Milano Expo 2015), Teatro Comunale di Mirano, Bologna, Venice, Teatro Ariosto in Reggio Emilia, Teatro Sociale di Mantova, La Fabbrica di Villadossola, Teatro Manzoni di Monza, Luglio Musicale Trapanese, Teatro Bibiena di Mantova, Teatro Sociale di Como, Teatro Grande di Brescia, Teatro Regio di Parma, Teatro Alighieri di Ravenna , Teatro degli Arcimboldi in Milano, Teatro Romolo Valli in Reggio Emilia, Teatro Comunale di Sassari and Teatro Coccia di Novara.
